David Andersen Guilloche Sterling Silver Buckle Gold Wash 。An exceptional example of early 20th-century Norwegian craftsmanship, this sterling silver sash buckle was created by the world-renowned firm David-Andersen. It features a brilliant royal blue guilloché enamel center with a radiant sunburst pattern, framed by a delicate border of hand-applied white enamel \"pearl\" dots.
Founded in 1876, David-Andersen is Norway’s most prestigious jeweler. This piece bears the early \"Hammer and Tongs\" hallmark, used between 1888 and 1925. During this era, chief designer Gustav Gaudernack revolutionized enamel work, making these specific radiant patterns highly collectible today.
Condition Report
Front: The guilloché enamel remains vibrant and clear. There is a very minor, pin-head-sized \"flea bite\" at the 3 o\'clock edge (see macro photo). This is common for vitreous enamel of this age and does not detract from the beauty of the piece. All white enamel border dots are present and intact.
Reverse: Original sterling silver patina. The hallmark \"925S\" and the David-Andersen early maker’s mark are crisp and legible.
Hardware: Both original sash bars are sturdy and secure.
Material: 925 Sterling Silver & Vitreous Enamel
